Jade Mountain, has seen a few face lifts since 1991 - when Thomas Hussey took over the ownership and the wheel. The wonderful new motel opened in 2003, and with its breathtaking view of the lake, and beautiful rooms, it is quickly becoming a new favorite in the area.

Our gift shop and furniture selection arrived with Jay in 2004 making Jade Mountain Motel a MUST STOP even if you are just passing through. Our furniture line ranges from a rustic Mexican to country cottage. If our furniture is not rustic enough for you, next door to us are John and Debbie who have a beautiful Very rustic log furniture and décor line.
Thomas, a talented chef by trade, gave up cooking to open his beautiful motel. Thomas is a man of many talents as you will see from some of his handy work in the motel and store when you come to stay with us. If you are in the gift shop you may see some of the furniture that he and jay have built there on the premises. Thomas always has something on the go, he speaks passionately about politics and health which he has quite a bit of knowledge and has a very open minded out look on new business possibilities.
Jay is Thomas’s partner, both in life and in business. Jay left the coast and 25 years of barbering to be a furniture maker in the sunny shuswap. An artist as well, you will see some of her furniture and artwork in the gift shop. She speaks passionately about her business, horses, health (iridology , Biokinesiology ) and her family. She is always on the go and always willing to sit and discus exactly how you want your furniture built.
Charlie..the gift shop cat, alias "fat cat". Charlie spends most of his time in the gift shop, making sure everything runs smoothly. Charlie keeps a close eye on the place. You will usually find him casually waiting for some one to come and give him an expected scratch. If you are out sitting in the yard over looking the garden, he may just bless you with his presence and tell you horrendous stories…….but don’t believe a word he tells you, they are lies, all lies.
In case you haven't figured it out, we love what we do. We want to be more than just a motel. This is more of a "its our home, and you are welcome". Even though it is a business, we don't have to be stuffy and full of pomp and display about it. Come and have a relaxing visit at our place... You'll be glad you did.
